Aluminum

With the Al-lumini series of works, the objective is particularly achieved thanks to the atmosphere generated by the backlighting through the perforated aluminum support. In this case the reference to ancient sacred icons and Christian circles appears imperial when exposed. Both for the composition of the image and for the symbolism contained within, with the presence of photographic portraits under glass depicting faces of young subjects, the emotional impact is really very intense. All the aluminum elements are contained and concentrated in a coded message to be deciphered, an enigma to be solved behind the shape, the appearance, the material. Many people are shown as astronauts, floating in stasis. Their helmets, suits, or spaceships are previously referred to naturalistic, dot, and mystical symbols, such as crosses and mandalas.
